Do not smoking in this VILLAGE!

When we go to somewhere, sometimes we see signs indicating no smoking area. This area can be a restaurant, department store, supermarket, etc.

Singgalang Mountain

Some people agree about this rule and others do not agree. Some people sure that smoking is legal activity and should not be forbidden in any area. They think smoking is activity that can make them feel relax. What will happen if the no smoking area is a large area, such as village? Well, let’s see Singgalang village, Indonesia.

It seems that “no smoking in my village” is stated on every person who lives at Singgalang, Padang, Sumatra Barat, Indonesia. While another Indonesian people talk about the MUI state that says smoking is forbidden, Singgalang people commit that smoking is forbidden in their village since years ago. Singgalang is one of area in Padang City, Sumatra Barat province, Indonesia. They have an unique custom rule that smoking in Singgalang is forbidden, so everyone who want to smoke must go to outside of Singgalang area. If there is someone over step this rule, Singgalang’s custom leader will make a count with him or her. It works! There is no person smoking in this village.

nosmokingI am absolutely appreciating Singgalang’s people. Two thumbs up for them. They give us an example of healthy life style, fresh for body and environment. Of course, this simple thing, stay away from smoking, decreases the accelerating of Global Warming that harmful for our earth. Besides, they show how strong the commitment to their rule is, not like this funny anecdote:

see the anecdote at google video

How can a big change be if we do not change ourselves…
How can a big change be if we do not change a simple thing…
How can a big change be if we do not change from right now…
A big change begins from ourselves, simple thing, and right now!!!

Tanda Dilarang merokok sering kita lihat dimana-mana. What a wow!!!!

Mengutip kata Aa’ Gym:
Mulailah dari hal yang kecil,
dari diri sendiri,
dan dari sekarang.
two thumbs up for Singgalang😉
